Just for Laughs

I know you are working on your New Year Resolutions. Everyone is - either on paper on just in their mind. Supposed to be more likely to actually happen if you write it down.

Thought for today and tomorrow -

Select a few people to be particularly kind to today - those you were a little harsh with yesterday.

Norman Vincent Peale

If you are still feeling a little "harsh" today, this is a good time to forgive and forget. It is the forgetting part that may be a little hard. Try pretending this is the last time you will see that person. What memories do you want to keep alive in your mind?

THE FACTS OF LIFE

The 2 most common elements in the universe are hydrogen and
stupidity.

If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.

Money can't buy happiness...But it sure makes misery easier to
live with.

Nothing in the known universe travels faster than a bad check.

A truly wise man never plays leapfrog with a unicorn.

It has recently been discovered that research causes cancer in
rats.

Always remember to pillage BEFORE you burn.

If you are given an open-book exam, you will forget your book.

The trouble with doing something right the first time is that
nobody appreciates how difficult it was.

It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as
a warning to others.

Dave's Law: You can't fall off the floor.

The average woman would rather have beauty than brains, because
the average man can see better than he can think.

Clothes make the man. Naked people have little or no influence
on society.

Vital papers will demonstrate their vitality by moving from
where you left them to where you can't find them.

Law of Probability Dispersal: Whatever it is that hits the fan
will not be evenly distributed.

Brain cells come and brain cells go, but fat cells live
forever.

The older you get, the tougher it is to lose weight, because by
then your body and your fat are really good friends.

Dr.Mani says...: About Success & Scorecards

When I was in eighth grade in school, I received a gift. A plaque to keep on my desktop, or somewhere easily visible. It had a picture of Charlie Brown talking to Lucy.

Charlie says: 'Always remember - Money is NOT everything!'

And in the background, Lucy mutters under her breath: 'And also remember to make a lot of it before talking such nonsense!'

If you are planning on having a few drinks to celebrate the New Year - a few tips to avoid the hangover the next morning.

Don't try to prevent a headache by taking painkillers (acetaminophen, aspirin or ibuprofen) before going to bed. This can actually increase the time that alcohol is in your system. In addition, the liver can be dangerously stressed when acetaminophen is combined with excessive alcohol.

Drink two big glasses of water before you start your alcohol consumption. Then try very hard to drink two more before falling into bed. A hangover is primarily brain/body dehydration.

It is helpful to drink water between each alcoholic drink you have - but somehow that takes the fun out of the whole thing.

Sleeping it off - may be an old saying but really is true. Your body needs time to process out all the alcohol. Plan on sleeping late the next morning.

Don't Drink and Drive. A hangover may be painful - but causing death or a hospital stay for yourself, your family or a complete stranger is no way to start the new year.

Talk to you again next year. I will be adding a little section on my progress in losing the 40 pounds I have gained in the last year and a half. Funny thing, 10 pound gain is easy to say I'll take care of it tomorrow. The tomorrows caught up with me. This next year I will be spending more time walking and less time sitting in front of the computer.

until next time - smile
Sharono
